Karen Ledbury – First Thursday MC

Karen has presented over 6000 hours of live television content working both in the studio and on location.

Television Experience

Karen’s television career has spanned over 13 years. She has featured on such shows as ‘Good Morning Australia’ with Bert Newton (Ch 10 ), Mornings with Kerri-Anne (Ch 9), Bright Ideas and is currently a member of ‘The Morning Show’ team with Larry Emndur and Kylie Gillies (Ch 7). Although Karen has had great experience presenting both scripted and autocue segments her skill is definitely in ‘Live Television’.

Karen has presented over 6000 hours of live television content working both in the studio and on location.

She has interviewed both local and international guests and has featured on variety shows covering fashion, beauty, home wares, kitchen, fitness and electrical content. Her natural charm, humour, and her vibrant personality coupled with her relatable realness have made her a favourite with the viewers. Karen has also gained the respect of her colleagues with her hard working ethics, dedication to the craft and professionalism.

Voice Over

Featured as the voice for radio several commercials including a recent campaign for Toyota and VS Sassoon Goddess. She has also lended her voice to promos and advertisements for various television shows and corporate DVD’s.

Radio Experience

Currently working on the production of a brand new and exciting radio program in which she will not only help produce but also co-present.

Events

Karen has been asked to host various events over the past 13 years but her most recent achievements include:

  • Annual Bridge to Beach Classic (held in Sydney harbour) 3 years running -This race features both local and internationally recognised athletes competing in a kayak/swim race that starts at the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Finishes at The Manly Wharf. Next Event Sunday March 7th, 2010
  • Annual Toll Charity ‘Make a Wish Foundation’ charity luncheon 2years running, This event is held each year at The Hyatt Sanctuary Cove on the Gold Coast. Influential women from around the country raise much needed funds for the Make a Wish Charity. It is a charity close to Karen’s heart as not only does she have 3 children herself but she also had a seriously ill cousin diagnosed with Leukaemia at the age of 3. The next event will be held in mid 2010.
  • Annual Toll Charity Gala
  • In 2009 Karen was asked to MC the Black and White Gala Ball. It was held at The Hyatt Sanctuary Cove on the Gold Coast and hosted over 500 guests. Details for this event can be viewed in the News section of this website. The next event will be held in mid 2010.
  • Karen has also hosted a number of events for various charities and Melbourne Cup functions as well as Fashion Catwalk Shows, Beauty Expos and Product Launches as well as Store Openings.

Production Experience

Karen has been involved in various production duties including booking talent and crew, hosting castings to search for talent, script writing, liaising with Clients to work with Brand development and the direction of their production.
